A total of $3,175 was raised by the CSRA Tennis Association during a two-day tournament to benefit the Walton Foundation for Independence’s sports programs.

Hosted by Petersburg Racquet Club, the tourney featured senior men’s and women’s doubles, a wheelchair tennis exhibition and a Pro/Am tournament where spectators could donate funds to give players fun advantages or disadvantages (for example, some athletes had to play in tutus or with a non-dominant hand).

CSRA Tennis Association Chairman Jim Spangler serves on the Walton Foundation Wheelchair Tennis Committee and helped organize the event. About 50 local players participated, and monies raised specifically benefited Walton’s wheelchair tennis clinics and the annual Wheelchair Tennis Championship, part of the Georgia Wheelchair Tennis Grand Prix.
