Tuesday, April 29th, 2025
Columbia County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is excited to host its annual Public Safety and Preparedness Fair on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Evans Towne Center Park (7016 Evans Town Center Boulevard, Evans, GA) from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
This free, family-friendly event is open to the public and will showcase local EMA, Fire Rescue, the Sheriff’s Office, and other county departments that play a vital role in emergency preparedness and response. Participating alongside those Columbia County departments will be two dozen community partners, including Grovetown and Harlem law enforcement and fire departments and non-governmental partners like Shepeard Blood Center, The Red Cross, AUAirCare, Gold Cross, and many more. Attendees will have the chance to explore emergency response vehicles, dive team boats, the fire safety house, HAZMAT trucks, and other public safety displays. The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office will also provide Child I.D. services and conduct a K-9 demonstration.
“The Public Safety and Preparedness Fair is a great opportunity for all of us to learn more about protecting our families, ourselves, and our property. This is more important than ever as we continue to recover from Hurricane Helene,” said Shawn Granato, Director of Columbia County EMA. “We appreciate the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Fire Rescue, and other County agencies working together to increase public awareness about how we can all contribute to keeping our community safe.”
In addition to public safety exhibits, the fair will feature food trucks, free rides, face painting, and live music, making it a fun and educational event for all ages.
