Southern Company Increases Dividend for 24th Consecutive Year

Southern Company today announced it is increasing its dividend by 8 cents per share on an annualized basis to a rate of $2.96 per share.
This marks the 77th consecutive year that Southern Company has paid a dividend on its common stock that is equal to or greater than the previous quarter. Additionally, this is the 24thconsecutive year the company has raised its dividend.
Southern Company also announced a regular quarterly dividend – including an increase of 2 cents per share over the prior quarter – of 74 cents per share, payable June 6, 2025 to shareholders of record as of May 19, 2025.

"Our board takes immense pride in again reinforcing our overall value proposition to our investors with a goal of providing regular, predictable and sustainable dividend growth supported by premier state-regulated utilities and energy infrastructure under long-term contracts."
