Augusta Committees Move Downtown Parking Plan Forward, Review Completed FY 2024 Audit

Augusta committee members discussed a path forward Tuesday for a downtown parking management plan and received an update on the city’s completed fiscal year 2024 financial audit.
Items discussed in committee are expected to go before the full Augusta Commission next week for approval.
Downtown parking management
The Engineering Services Committee considered a motion to allow staff to begin procurement for a parking management firm for the downtown area and to allow the Law Department to draft related updates to Augusta’s code of ordinances regarding parking.
According to the agenda item, the Augusta Commission directed staff March 31 to begin identifying a parking management solution for the downtown corridor.
