Summer Program Exposes Augusta Youths to Aviation

A group of local teens is getting a look at future careers thanks to a partnership between the Boys & Girls Club of Augusta and local attorney Austin Jackson.
The Aviation Academy kicked off Wednesday at the Boys & Girls Club Support Center at 624 Chafee Ave., marking the start of a six-week program for teens interested in aviation.
pilot and attorney Austin Jackson helped found the Aviation Academy four years ago. The program introduces teens to careers like piloting, mechanics and air traffic control.
Jackson said he grew up loving airplanes and wants to share that passion as the industry faces a need for new workers.
